How to use it
- 01
Start from a logo or letters
Upload a square logo (PNG with a transparent background works best), or type one or two letters.
- 02
Style it
Pick colours and a shape. Check the preview at tab size: small icons need bold, simple shapes.
- 03
Download and paste
Download the files to your site's main folder and paste the code into the page <head>.
Questions about this tool
What is a favicon?
The small icon in the browser tab, bookmarks and Google's mobile results. Phones also use a larger version when someone adds your site to their home screen.
Which files do I need?
favicon.ico for browsers, a 180 × 180 apple-touch-icon for iPhones and iPads, and 192 and 512 pixel PNGs for Android and web app use. This tool makes all of them.
My logo looks blurry at tab size. Why?
A tab icon is only 16 or 32 pixels. Detailed logos turn to mush that small. Use just your mark or first letter, with strong contrast.
I use WordPress or Shopify. Do I need the code?
No. Both have a Site Icon or Favicon setting: upload the 512 pixel PNG there and they create the rest.
