301 redirect generator
Turn a list of old and new URLs into redirect rules for your server, and catch chains and loops before they cost you traffic.
.htaccess rules
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
How to use it
- 01
List old and new addresses
One redirect per line: the old URL, a comma, then the new URL. Full URLs or just paths both work.
- 02
Pick your server
Apache (.htaccess, most cPanel hosting), Nginx, Vercel or Netlify.
- 03
Fix the warnings, then install
Chains and loops are flagged. Add the rules to your site and test a few old addresses.
Questions about this tool
What is a 301 redirect?
A permanent redirect: anyone (and Google) visiting the old address is sent to the new one. It passes on most of the old page's search value, which is why it matters when you move or redesign a site.
When do I need redirects?
Whenever a page's address changes or a page is removed: a redesign, a move to Shopify or WordPress, merged pages, or a new domain. Without them, old links and Google results lead to an error page.
What's a redirect chain?
When A redirects to B and B redirects to C. Each hop slows visitors down and can lose value. Point A straight to C instead; the tool warns you when it spots a chain.
I use WordPress or Shopify. How do I add these?
Shopify has a URL Redirects section with a CSV import. On WordPress, a redirect plugin can import the old and new list, or use the .htaccess output if your host runs Apache.
