What is a URL slug?
The part of a web address that names the page, after the domain: in yoursite.com/web-design/shopify/, the slug is "shopify". Clear slugs help people and search engines see what a page is about.
What makes a good slug?
Short, lowercase, words separated by hyphens, and containing the main words of the page's topic. Leave out dates and filler words so the URL never needs to change.
Should I change the slugs of existing pages?
Only with a reason. Changing a live page's address loses the Google traffic it has earned unless you add a 301 redirect from the old address. Our redirect generator helps with that.

Hyphens. Google treats a hyphen as a space between words; underscores join words together.
