SEO cost in Pakistan has no fixed price, but published guides give a starting range. GoDaddy’s Pakistan cost guide puts SEO and marketing at PKR 10,000 to PKR 100,000+ per month (GoDaddy Resources, updated 19 December 2025). That is a wide spread, and it is wide for a reason.
A Karachi bakery that wants to show up on Google Maps needs far less work than an online store with 2,000 products, or a US-facing service business competing with American agencies. The price follows the scope. This guide explains what goes into that scope, so you can read any quote, including ours, with a clear head. ObtainTek does not publish prices. We quote each project after we see the site.
Published SEO price ranges, and how much to trust them
There is no independent survey of SEO prices in Pakistan that we could find. Most figures you will see online come from agencies selling SEO, which is worth keeping in mind. Here are the sources we consider usable, checked in October 2026:
| Source | What it says | Market | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy Resources Asia | SEO and marketing: PKR 10,000 to PKR 100,000+ per month | Pakistan | Updated 19 Dec 2025 |
| Ahrefs SEO pricing survey | Average monthly retainer of $2,917 across 439 providers; the most common band is $501 to $1,000 a month (20.4% of respondents) | Global | Updated 15 Aug 2024 |
| Ahrefs SEO pricing survey | 76% of India-based SEOs charge $1,000 or less per month | India (closest regional data) | Updated 15 Aug 2024 |
Two notes on reading this table:
- GoDaddy sells domains, hosting and website tools. Its guide is useful as a reference point, but it is not a price survey.
- The Ahrefs survey is global and priced in US dollars. It helps US and UAE readers compare Pakistani quotes with what they would pay at home. It does not break out Pakistan.
If someone quotes a single “average” price for SEO in Pakistan, ask where the number came from.
What moves the price of SEO
Every quote is a mix of the same few cost drivers. When two quotes differ by 5x, one or more of these is different.
- Keyword competition. Ranking for “dentist in Gulshan-e-Iqbal” takes less work than ranking for “car insurance Pakistan”. Harder keywords need more content, more links and more time.
- Size and state of your site. A 10-page site in good shape needs little technical SEO. A store with thousands of URLs, duplicate pages or slow templates needs more.
- Content volume. New service pages, blog posts and product descriptions are often the largest line in a quote. Ask how many pieces per month, and who writes them.
- Link building. Earning mentions and links from other websites is slow, manual work. Quotes that include real link building cost more than quotes that leave it out.
- Geography. One city, all of Pakistan, or the US and UAE as well. Each new market adds keyword research, pages and competitors.
- Tools and reporting. Paid SEO tools cost the agency money every month. Reporting that ties rankings to calls and sales takes setup time.
- Who does the work. A solo freelancer, a small team or a larger agency have different costs. Ask who will actually work on your account.
What different scope levels usually include
These are typical scope levels, not packages or prices. Use them to check whether a quote matches your situation.
| Scope level | Usually includes | Usually not included |
|---|---|---|
| Local business, one area | Google Business Profile setup and upkeep, local citations, on-page fixes for core service pages, review process, basic monthly report | Large content programs, national keywords, link outreach campaigns |
| Growing service business, national | Keyword research, technical audit and fixes, new or rewritten service pages, a few articles per month, some link building, report tied to leads | International targeting, ecommerce feeds, heavy digital PR |
| Online store or international | Category and product page optimization, technical work at scale, structured data, content for several markets, ongoing link building, revenue reporting | Paid ads, site rebuilds, product photography |
If a business in the first row is quoted for the third, the quote is too big. If a store is quoted for the first row, the quote is probably missing work. A local SEO program and an ecommerce program are different jobs.
Monthly retainer, project or hourly
SEO is sold in three main ways. Ahrefs found that 78.2% of SEO providers bill by monthly retainer, and many use more than one model.
A monthly retainer pays for ongoing work: content, fixes, outreach and reporting. It suits most businesses that want steady growth. The risk is a retainer where nobody can say what was done last month.
A fixed project pays for one defined job, such as a technical audit, a migration plan or a set of service pages. It suits businesses with a clear problem and an in-house person to carry on.
Hourly billing suits consulting: a review of your team’s work, training, or a second opinion. It is hard to budget for open-ended SEO this way.
For clients in the US and UAE, ask which currency the quote is in. A quote in PKR, USD or AED changes how exchange rates affect you over a 12-month contract.
Warning signs in a cheap SEO offer
Low prices are not the problem. Vague scope is. Be careful when an offer includes any of these:
- A promise of first-page or number one rankings. Google’s guidance says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking and tells you to find someone else if they do.
- “1,000 backlinks” or any link count without saying where the links come from.
- No access for you. Your Google Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile should stay in your name.
- Reports that list rankings for keywords nobody searches, and nothing about calls, forms or sales.
- No written list of monthly deliverables.
How to compare two SEO quotes
Put two quotes side by side and work through them in this order. It takes about an hour and saves months of the wrong work.
Match the goal
Check that both quotes are solving the same problem: local leads, national traffic, store revenue or a new market.
DeliverableOne-line goal per quote
List the deliverables
Write down what each quote delivers per month: pages, articles, fixes, links, reports. Remove anything that is not countable.
DeliverableDeliverables side by side
Check who does the work
Ask who writes the content, who builds links, and who you will talk to each month.
DeliverableNamed contact and roles
Check ownership and access
Confirm your accounts, content and data stay yours if you leave.
DeliverableAccess list in your name
Compare cost per deliverable
Only now compare price. Divide the monthly fee by what you actually get.
DeliverableA fair comparison
How we work
We work from Karachi with clients in Pakistan, the US and the UAE, and we do not publish SEO prices. Every quote starts from the client’s site, market and goal, which is why the same question (“how much is SEO?”) gets different answers for different businesses.
Before we quote, we look at your site, your market and the searches you want to be found for. Your quote then lists exactly what’s included each month, so you can compare it line by line with any other quote. The monthly work follows a simple rhythm: plan, do, report, with a short written update each month.
The next step
If you want a number for your own business, start with the scope, not the price. Our SEO pricing page shows what each scope level covers. To see how we work month to month, read about our SEO services. Still deciding whether to fund SEO or paid ads first? Our guide to SEO vs Google Ads walks through that choice, and the blog has more guides like this one.
